Manon Lloyd joins Trek-Drops

Drops Cycling Team are delighted to announce that Manon Lloyd will be part of the team for 2018.

The Welsh cyclist graduated through the Great Britain Senior Academy to the national body’s Podium Programme on the track. Drops will work with Manon to help her reach her goals on the road.

In 2017, Manon added a top ten at the road National Championships and a third place overall at the Tour Series to her medals at recent European Track Championships and Track World Cups.

Manon discussed her move. “I am very excited to be joining Drops next season. I would like to thank the team for the opportunity and I will look forward to showing off my new team colours. For me, it's a chance to learn from some of the more experienced riders on the team.”

“Considering the team has only been running two years, they have secured invites to some of the biggest races on the ladies calendar. Bring on 2018!”

Team Director, Bob Varney spoke about bringing Manon to the team. “I am thrilled to have signed Manon to the team for 2018 and very excited to start working with her. Everyone knows my enthusiasm is for the road and after I met with Manon in the summer, it was obvious that she shares that enthusiasm.”

“Manon is keen to build on her successful road season after impressive performances at the Tour Series and at the National Road Championships in the Isle of Man. She will be a valuable addition to our domestic squad and is eager to prove herself in Europe when the opportunity arises.”

Manon will meet her new teammates later on this year at the team’s first training camp.
